IELTS General Writing Task 1 with model answer

You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. Write about the following topic

You eat at your favourite restaurant everyday for lunch. You do not like the decor they have chosen.

Write the manager a letter telling him:
- What you think is great about the restaurant?
- What things you think need to be changed?
- Suggestions on ways to improve the decor.

Write at least 150 words.

Model Answer:

Dear Sir,
I am a regular customer of Garveys and it is my favourite place for lunch. I am writing to offer a suggestion that is my opinion, might improve the customer experience at your restaurant. Please allow me to elaborate further.

Garveys is located in a central place, due to which people working in the city find it very convenient to walk across for lunch. The menu selection is also excellent as a variety of combo meals are offered that are affordable for everyone.

However, I feel that the restaurant will have the capacity to accommodate more people if the bulky corner sofas are replaced by sleek chairs. The sofas are also very uncomfortable ; therefore , I often find them unoccupied. Removing the corner sofas can also create space for two seater at the restaurant. I believe that implementing the above changes will increase the number of customers as there will be better seating options for them.

I hope you will consider my suggestions or being loyal customer, I have the best interest of the restaurant in my mind.
