IELTS General Writing Task 1 with model answer

You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. Write about the following topic

Write a letter about a public event you attended recently and give a suggestion to the organizer for the improvement in future. In your letter:

- Describe the event
- Explain how you enjoyed the event
- What improvements do you recommend

Write at least 150 words.

Model Answer:

Dear Sir,
I attended the 'Disney on Ice' show with my family on 15 January 2018 at the Qatar National convention centre that was organized by your company. While the children enjoyed the entertainment at the event, I do have a few suggestions, that, in my opinion, might improve the overall experience of the spectators in futire.

As 'Disney on Ice' is an internationally acclaimed show, we had high expectations from the performance. In fact, the performance surpassed all expectations and the children had a great time. The show was interactive and the young audience was kept engage throughout the two-hour show. We did not get bored despite the long duration of the event.

However, our overall experience would have been extremely satisfactory if we had comfortable seats to enjoy the show. I understand that the venue is multi-functional and temporary seats are installed as per the requirements of each event; however, it would be better if the seats were made up of a better material than hard plastic, as we had an aching back after sitting on those chairs for about two hours. Most of the children were standing to watch the show, so it was obvious that they found the seats uncomfortable as well.

I am certain that I would not be the only one who would appreciate the efforts taken by your company to improve the quality of the seats for future events. Thus, I hope you will consider my suggestion and make the necessary changes.
