Model Answer:

With an increasing rate of overpopulation and unemployment, numerous countries including some developed nations encounter a social issue of crime, particularly juvenile delinquency. In this essay, I will examine some contributing factors causing this problem and will suggest some solutions accordingly.

To begin with, there are several reasons for the illegal behaviours of young adults. Firstly, on account of poverty and unemployment, a multitude of youngsters indulge in unlawful activities such as robbery, rape and so on. For instance, a recent article reported that the graduated jobless youths are easily persuaded to become the members of ISIS terrorist groups. Secondly, it is also possible to say that the influence of mass medias, by which children get easy exposure to many non consensual matters, contributes to this pressing issue. Finally, although not being a major cause, inherited characteristics and peer group pressure are also the predisposing factors to the rising rate of juvenile offenses.

However, solutions are available to tackle this problem. First of all, the government should increase the employment opportunities for the graduates. At least, they should be provided funding to become freelancers or subsidised until they pursue their careers. A good illustration is Tamil Nadu where the graduated young people from poor socio economic status receive incentives in terms of money. Secondly, the offenders in prison, especially children should continue their education. Also, the community rehabilitation and restitution programs would certainly counter habitual offending. On top of it, the government should impose draconian laws against immoral acts as well as on the publications of medias which incite bad habits among young men.

Thus, even though antisocial behaviours of the younger generation is a growing problem, mainly caused by impoverishment, unemployment and frequent exposure to vulnerable acts, various means and methods such as stringent legislation and adequate support and guidance from society can prevent this from worsening.
