You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. Write about the following topic

You are leaving the country and moving back to your home country.

Write a letter to your friend regarding the furniture that you would like to give away. Your letter should include:
- explain why you want to give away furniture
- describe furniture that you want to give away
- explain why your friend will like it

Write at least 150 words.

Model Answer:

Dear Emily,

It has been a long time since I have heard from you. I hope you and your family are in the pink of health. I am writing to tell you that I am giving away most of my furniture as I am moving back to my country from Dubai. I have decided to move back because I can’t tolerate the hot climate anymore.

If I leave the furniture in the apartment it would be thrown away by the management; therefore, it’s better that I either sell it or give it away. Since you liked most of the things I had purchased for my home, I thought I’d let you know about my intentions. I am giving away all the electronics including the television and kitchen appliances. My rocking chair and study table are also up for grabs. In addition, I have some lightweight decoration pieces that are really expensive and rather exquisite; I would like you to have those as well. As you know, I keep my things neat and clean so all the items are in good condition.

If you are interested in any of the furniture then let me know. Also, come over to my place on the weekend and stay with me so that we can meet before I leave.

Give my love to your son.
