Model Answer:
Dear John,
I am busy with preparations for arrival to Canada. I have enrolled at the University of Toronto in an intermediate language development course. The length of the course is four months and it is a full-time course. My main goal is to improve my communication skills for passing the language assessment examination.
To assist myself in covering my expenses, I have decided to work part-time. Not only is the college fee very high, but also the rental expenses are very costly. I felt that having a part-time job would help me cover some part of my expenses and that is the main reason why I wanted you to arrange some form of temporary employment for me before I arrive.
I was wondering if you could ask your friends and enquire if anyone has some knowledge about any part-time job vacancy for a gardener, nanny, or math tutor. I know that you have a very wide social network, which you can use for helping me.
I look forward to seeing you soon.
Best wishes,
Jane Doe
