IELTS General Writing Task 1 with model answer

You should spend about 20 minutes on this task. Write about the following topic

You will move to a new city for work. You know some people who live there.

• Ask them for help finding accommodation
• Tell them where you would like to live
• Tell them the type of place you are looking for

Write at least 150 words.

Model Answer:

Dear Sir,

Hope you are doing good. It’s been a while since we have spoken with each other. I am delighted to inform you that I would be moving to Hyderabad to take up a new job that I have been offered and I am expected to join on 20th of next month.

It would be great if you could help me in finding the accommodation. My company has offered me an accommodation for the first 15 days, and after that, I need to find the accommodation on my own.

As my office is situated in HITECH city, I prefer to live closer to my workplace in Kukatpally,  which would save a lot of time from travelling. I prefer moving to a studio apartment; however, if that is not available then I won’t mind sharing a 2-bedroom apartment with a girl. My budget is around 25000 rupees per month.   

Could you please let me know whether I could get an apartment in my budget?
