Model Answer:

While some people have found the advance of the internet as a marvelous way to join people from all over the world, others have been concerned about changes in the way social interaction happens nowadays. I think the internet is a brilliant tool but I agree that there needs to be some moderation when its use.

There have been a number of positive developments improving the communication between people. Firstly people can now video call each other with the help of many applications, even when they are living in different parts of the world! An example of this is Skype, without applications like Skype families separated by many miles would not be able to stay in touch so easily. Furthermore, some companies even use it for teleconferencing. In this respect I am not concerned about the effects on socials interaction I feel it creates a new form of social interaction.

Another positive impact of the internet is the speed at which communication can occur. An example of this is the creation of email. In the past people would have to write a letter, post it and wait for its delivery. Today, an email can be send in a matter of seconds. This is a positive outcome making our lives efficient.

There are, however, some negative forms of abuse that occur on the worldwide web. One such example is cyber-bullying. Many people use social media. Today, this can become a platform for insults to be posted in an anonymous way without the perpetrator suffering from any consequences.

In summary, the internet advanced our communication in many ways however, like all intellectual it is open to use and abuse. It is important, safeguards are put in place by governmental authorities and social media platform.
