Hi Atul,Just took the IELTS on 8th October, 2016. Only had a couple of days to prepare due to my cramped work schedule. At this point I must say reviewing your blogs and videos on your website was so helpful.
Exam type : General testing
Reading: Passages on Turtle migration, Tertiary Education benefits & true/false Not given questions.
Listening: Audio was about a family planning a resort stay and info about resort facilities & tourist activities
Writing: Task 1 – Write a letter to a your bank manager letting him know that you cannot make a previously set appointment, Give reasons why. *No need for addresses and start Letter with “Dear Sir…”.
Task 2 – Do you think the care for elderly relatives should be with family or professional care?. Give your opinion.
Speaking : lasted for about 13 minutes. Started with introduction & was asked to talk a little bit about myself & what id did for a living.
Then asked if i liked having visitors or preferred visiting others
Asked about a special gift i had recently given someone..why the person & what was the reaction from the person. Finally asked if i felt gift giving affected social lifestyle.
Exam tips:
Always practice under simulated test conditions at home…Please time yourself for each practice session & use a pencil & eraser when doing so. These little things prepare you for the actual test itself. Please also be very tough on yourself when scoring…don’t be too generous in your awarding of points or it will create a false confidence. Listen to as many audio listening samples as you can….it will train your mind to recognize pertinent info for answers & properly condition you for the actual test day.
Oh by the way..just saw my result online today
R: 9, L:9, S:9 and W:8 Overall band 9.
I wish you all the best
