Hello Atul,Sorry for the late post.
I took the Ielts(academic) in Abuja, Nigeria on 16th June, 2016
Questions are as follows;
Speaking
Part 1
Introduction,
type of work
why I decided to choose the profession.
Is teamwork important?
Questions on Flowers:
Where they flowers in my house
What they are used for in my country
If I give flowers as gifts
Part 2
Cue card
Describe a wedding you recently attended
When, whose wedding, the venue and describe the event
Part 3
follow up questions
Why weddings are popular in Nigeria
Is a small ceremony better than a large ceremony
How is marriage important to the society
Writing
Task 1 A table showing percentage of households in Britain in two years (1967 and 2001)
Task 2: In some countries, schools now make it compulsory for teenagers to do unpaid work in certain companies and institutions
What are the benefits for both the students and companies.
Experience:
I felt i did badly in my speaking because I finished before the 2mins mark in my part 2 and I repeated some words. The examiner helped by asking a further question so I could talk more and I continued speaking until he stopped me. I thought everything was so fast and wasn’t up to 11mins. I got a 7 so I guess I should not have been worried.
Tip: Be confident, if you make a mistake correct yourself and keep on speaking.
Writing was not bad, though I didn’t have time to correct my work.
Tip: try and have a template for the exam as this will make your essay cohesive and it saves time too.
For Listening and reading: Please practice before hand. I noticed my band increased after I practiced. Use Cambridge books.
Thanks Atul for this site. God bless you.
