The most important thing about a job is how much money you earn in that job. Do you agree or disagree?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Write at least 250 words.

Model Answer:

The perspective that a financial remuneration is of utmost importance about a job has sparked heated debates among many. I strongly disagree with this viewpoint and will illustrate other major factors of a job in this essay.

There are compelling reasons to consider other options in an employment opportunity. First of all, work responsibilities should be well catered to an individual’s skills, experience, and educational background. For example, overqualified or underqualified employees might not do the tasks appropriately and may lead to higher attrition rates. In addition, job satisfaction will keep the staff happy and to have high work throughput. Moreover, knowledge to be gained in the work should be considered as well. For example, engineers needs to be up-To-date within their fields.

Furthermore, vacation package along with sick leave days are of importance. Therefore, the whole employment package should be considered and not just money. Higher financial remuneration can have drawbacks. Obviously, the merit of a higher salary is the ability to afford more things and invest in oneself or on children’s future; indeed, money makes the world spin. The primary disadvantage is that the workplace can be succumbed to a plethora of office politics where the financial rewards are higher. For instance, employees might deceive their peers in order to receive a recognition or promotion. Also, people may become more materialistic with a pile of cash in their hands and might not perform up to the standards required in the job.

To conclude, I firmly believe that salary is not of utmost importance about a job. Work responsibilities, job satisfaction, knowledge to be gained, vacation package and existence of office politics should all be considered while deciding on an employment offer.
